FCBD is ALWAYS good, but this year it’s going to be even better! We’ll have those free floppies for you, sure, but we’ll ALSO have…
- A pop-up market full of amazing creators on our Orange Avenue sidewalk from 10am-6pm, including Kikidoodle, Kory Bing, Rebecca Hicks, Optimystical Studios, and more!
- Gorgeous fresh flowers from Pup Tent Flowers!
- Sidewalk sketch artists, including Cat Farris, Ren Strapp, En Nelson-Correia, and Ripley Lacross!
- Fairy door painting (which will decorate our beautiful new garden!)
- Face painting
- Some sweet live music
- And the GRAND OPENING of The Short Box, your new favorite food truck pod! Waffles and sandwiches and vegan ice cream, oh my!

We still need a handful of volunteers for Free Comic Book Day! Are you free this Saturday? Want a cute tee and our eternal thanks?
About our volunteers:
1) You don’t have to be a comics expert to help us out, but you should definitely like comics, and be excited about connecting people with them!
2) You are comfortable using gender neutral language if you don’t know a person’s pronouns.
3) You are fully vaccinated AND willing to wear a mask for your entire shift.
4) You are comfortable around kids and dogs.
Volunteers get drinks and snacks and a Books with Pictures t-shirt: tell us your size at sign-up! You’ll also get the satisfaction of a job well done and our immense gratitude.
